Privacy
Effective date: September 18, 2026
This policy explains how Sobriety Systems handles information through sobrietysystems.com, its membership tools, and the Sobriety Systems Mail connection used for website email. For privacy questions or requests, contact admin@sobrietysystems.com.
Information you provide
We receive information you enter when you create an account, subscribe to emails, contact us, purchase a membership, or save a response in a member tool. This can include your name, email address, account details, messages, membership records, and saved reflections.
Saved member responses are associated with your account. They are not intended as public posts, but authorized site administrators can technically access stored data to operate and support the service. Please avoid entering information you do not want stored, including other people’s private information. Content submitted for public publication is different from a private member response; consider what you share in those areas.
Payments
Stripe handles payment entry and processing. The website receives the payment and subscription information needed to manage membership, such as payment status, transaction references, and billing details supplied during checkout. Enter full payment-card details only in the payment form, never in a reflection or support email. Stripe’s handling of payment information is described in Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
Website use, cookies, and analytics
The site uses cookies and related technology for functions such as signing in, maintaining sessions, and remembering preferences. Hosting and security services can process technical information, including IP addresses, browser information, request times, and error or security records.
We use Google’s website measurement tools to understand visits and membership activity. Measurement can include pages viewed, device and browser information, referral sources, and purchase-related events. You can control or delete cookies through your browser; blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or other features from working. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How information is used and shared
We use information to provide membership access and saved tools, process subscriptions, answer support requests, send account and service messages, send email updates you request, understand site use, and maintain security. Service providers involved in hosting, backups, payments, email delivery, and site measurement process information needed for those functions. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not publish private member responses without your permission. Email subscriptions can be ended using the unsubscribe option in the message; necessary account and transaction messages may still be sent.
Sobriety Systems Mail and Google account data
Sobriety Systems Mail is the website’s administrative email connection, operated through WP Mail SMTP. It connects the site’s authorized sending account to Google so the website can send messages such as account notifications, password resets, membership messages, and support or subscription emails. Visitors do not need to authorize access to their own Gmail accounts to receive these messages or use a membership.
The configured Google permission covers Gmail access more broadly than sending alone. Our permitted use of this connection is website email delivery and related administration and troubleshooting. We do not use it to sell mailbox data, build advertising profiles, or provide access to a visitor’s mailbox.
The connection stores authorization tokens and account configuration in the website’s settings so it can send without asking for a Google password each time. Email delivery processes sender and recipient addresses, message content, and delivery information through Google and the recipient’s email service. Authorized administrators can manage the connection and investigate delivery problems. Google account data is used and shared only for the disclosed email functions, security, or legal requirements, in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
The sending account owner can revoke the app’s access in their Google Account permissions or disconnect it in WP Mail SMTP. Revoking access stops future authorized use of the connection; it does not recall messages already sent or automatically remove existing records or backups.
Retention, access, and deletion
We retain information as needed to provide the service, support account and billing records, maintain security, and meet applicable obligations. Retention can differ across account data, email, transaction records, logs, and backups. Cancelling a membership stops future renewals but does not automatically delete the account or its saved information.
Contact admin@sobrietysystems.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, or to ask about a particular record. We may need to verify that the request is yours. Some records may need to be retained for legal, billing, security, or backup purposes. Do not send your password or full payment-card number.
Updates
We will update this page when these practices change and revise the effective date. Material changes affecting existing permissions will be explained before information is used in a new way.
